As a “joke” about Puerto Rico goes wrong for Trump, Bad Bunny backs Harris

As a “joke” about Puerto Rico goes wrong for Trump, Bad Bunny backs Harris.

In Philadelphia on Sunday, Vice President Harris was promoting a new promise to help Puerto Rico’s economy. She was comparing her method to that of former President Donald Trump. However, her opponent’s rally in New York gave her message an unexpected boost.
A comedian warming up the crowd at Trump’s gathering in Madison Square Garden called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” This made Boricuas all over the world very angry and gave Harris’ message more support.

Bad Bunny, who has 45 million Instagram followers, shared Harris’s Puerto Rico promise with them, and other Puerto Rican artists did the same.

In a key state, the “joke” could have an effect on the government.
The people who live on the island of Puerto Rico can’t vote in the pre-election. But Boricuas who live on the island do, and in Pennsylvania, which is a very important state in this election, they have a lot of power.

The Latino Policy and Politics Institute at UCLA says that about 580,000 Latinos in Pennsylvania are eligible to vote in this election. Most of these people are Puerto Rican.

Harris went around Freddy and Tony’s Restaurant in Philadelphia on Sunday. The restaurant is a Puerto Rican favorite. She had said in a video message to the camera that if she wins the race, she would make a new Puerto Rico Opportunity Task Force.

Harris promised that the state’s weak power grid would be fixed and that the federal government would work with the private sector and island leaders to find ways to add more jobs.
